Archie McPhee Seattle2. Archie McPhee: As you step through the doors of Archie McPhee’s, you will enter into a world of cooky-crazy-gizmos and widgets beyond your imagination. If unicorns and dinosaurs could be found in today’s retail-outlets, this is where they would live. With shelves stocked full of the strangest gag gifts, science experiments, cake decorations, toys, and ridiculous novelty items, Archie McPhee’s captivates both kids and adults…for hours. Seriously. Plan ahead. You won’t want to leave if you are one of those people who gets a good laugh from finger feet, kitten ornaments, and emergency beard guards.

Pinball_3web3. Seattle Pinball MuseumSick of all the modern video games? Walk into yesteryear at Seattle’s very own Pinball Museum. Unlike other Museums where you aren’t allowed to touch the historic items, the Pinball Museum is filled to the brim with fully functioning, playable machines! This mecca of analog mayhem brings enthusiasts from around the city to play these historic games and guzzle down a glass of nostalgia. Must be at least 7 years old to play!

Beecher's_Handmade_Cheese,_Pike_Place,_Seattle_(2014)4. Beecher’s Handmade Cheese: Do you love macaroni and cheese? You haven’t tried real mac n’ cheese until you step into this shrine of cheese deliciousness. Their gooey cheese will melt your knees and make you crave more, even when you are stuffed. If you aren’t into the mac n’ cheese, they have loads of delicious hard and soft cheeses. Press your nose up to the glass of their in house cheese making facility. Watch as they form the curd and process the cheese. Isn’t everyday that you get to see the whole process and then nibble on the product. Of course, the Pike Place Market is just across the street, so take your quarry and meander through the various artists booths and past the fish throwers.

Seattle_-_Curiosity_Shop_035. Ye Olde Curiosity Shop: Skip the history museum and visit the Ye Old Curiosity Shop instead. The collection of both historically (creepy) items and amazing novelty gifts started back 5 generations. This packed to the gills shop is no frills, but they certainly bring the strange from far and wide. The seemingly dusty shop is the perfect backdrop for what you might find in any bizarre movie or World Record Book Gaze at double headed creatures in glass domes, see piles of shark teeth, and ask a fortune telling gypsy about your future.
