Act Development Series

The Protege show is coming up fast! Are you ready? On July 10 the superb students of Emerald City Trapeze will perform to the theme of That 70s Circus Show.  This is a chance for advanced students to experience the process of a professional show.  Auditions for aerial acts will be held on June 26 at 7pm.

Along with the protege show we are running an act development series for students interested in creating an act.  This series will take you through all the steps you need to create and refine an act in your chosen discipline; including music selection, costuming, makeup, choreography, character work and tech runs. Although students are not required to take the series in order to audition for the Protege show, it is highly recommended.  All students interested in the series must contact Meredith Starnes- [email protected], for approval. Students must be approved by May 16.  The series will be starting the week of May 17th.  Once approved, students may sign up for the series. Cost is $240 for the 6 week series (no drop in’s).  Because days and times will depend on students’ availability, students will sign up at the desk or can call in.

It is expected you will have a complete act for the audition, 4-6 min. in length. As auditions are 2 weeks prior to the show, final music selections, choreography, and basic costume should be presented. Of course, small tweaks and changes to the act are anticipated in the two weeks prior to show.
