About Laura Strong:
Laura Strong has been pole dancing since 2010 and instructing since 2014. She first fell in love with pole dance as a creative and physical outlet during college and now dances and teaches full-time. She brings 20+ years’ experience as a musician and actor to her practice and is especially passionate about helping her students realize both their physical and expressive potential. For over two years, she taught pole dance and flexibility here at Emerald City Trapeze in Seattle. She currently teaches pole and aerial hoop at The Brass Ring Chicago. This is her second time performing at Carnevolar.
Dance With Character
Struggling to truly “let yourself go” onstage? Feeling self-conscious and need to connect with your audience? Stuck in a rut of using the same combos and patterns over and over? This workshop is about letting go of the tricks and finding confidence in your dance. We’ll deepen our connections to music, to audience, and to ourselves through solo and partner exercises, tag team improvisation, and music exploration. Prepare to have your brain challenged as much as your body! This workshop is appropriate for all levels of pole.

Metal & Moxie: Classic Pole Choreography
Ready to take it back to the glory days of old-school pole dance? This workshop is heel-banging, floor-pounding, hair-tossing, classic pole choreography. We’re going to break out the tried-and-true, crowd-pleasing standards and gritty guitar riffs for this one. Bring your kneepads, your heels, and an attitude. This workshop is appropriate for all levels, but some very basic pole experience is necessary.

Signature Spin Pole Combos
Gird your elbows for battle. In this workshop, Laura will break down her signature spinning pole combinations to help you achieve dazzling inverted and upright sequences with control and grace. We will cover the technique of the tricks themselves, as well as the spinning pole technique necessary to keep the sequences fluid and controlled. This workshop is high intermediate to advanced level and taught on spinning pole; it’s best suited for students who are comfortable inverting aerially and holding leg hangs on spin. You will need skin for this workshop.
