New Straps Workshops with Katie Herndon!

Straps Conditioning – Tuesdays 6-7:30, Jan 29-Feb 19

All levels welcome! This class will work on strength and aerial conditioning in order to progress towards more difficult skills. This is an excellent opportunity to cross train skills, improve shoulder and core strength and become familiar with some of the fundamentals of straps.

Cost: $40 per drop in class or $120 for all 4 classes

Straps Skills and Strengthening – Tuesdays 7:30-9:00, Jan 29-Feb 19

This workshop is a great chance for intermediate and advanced aerial students to discover some of the foundational skills of straps. We will work on flares, meat hook transitions, and progressions for more difficult skills. Even for those who are not interested in focusing on straps as their discipline, this can offer excellent cross training and aerial conditioning.

Prerequisites: students should be able to do 3 full skin the cats, 3 pull ups, and meat hooks

About Katie Herndon:

Katie Herndon is an international aerialist and acrobat, currently performing in Europe. After many years of training acrobatics and competing as part of Azusa Pacific University’s Acrobatics and Tumbling team in Los Angeles, she discovered aerial arts and became immersed into the wonderful world of circus. Over the past several years, Katie has continued to be inspired and grow as an artist; training and performing aerial silks, multicorde, rope, sling, dance harness, flying trapeze, hand-to-hand, and acrobatics.

Katie now works with AIDA Cruises, and several circus performance groups such as Quixotic and USC Events. In addition to her passion for performance Katie currently works as the business manager for Rose City Circus-a collaboration of performers based out of Portland, OR.
