April 27, 2019 – Proteges Take Stage – Theme: On Broadway!

Are you ready to perform? Here are the details for Aerial Artists:

• STEP 1: Please sign up at the front desk by January 25, 2019 with your name, apparatus, and ECTA instructor. Please include your Broadway Show and music selection if already known.
  • The final show will include no more than 9 acts (with no more than 3 of the same apparatus)
  • Acts must be 4 to 5 minutes in length
  • No live singing, additional participants/guest stars/backup dancers, etc.
  • Acts must be family-friendly and appropriate for children’s viewing
• STEP 1A: ECTA is offering Students a (non-mandatory) 3-week Act Inception Workshop to inspire and refine your Act Concept, Character, Music, and Story!
  • Dates: January 25, February 8, February 15
  • Time: 6:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Cost: $30 per session or 1 FA credit per session
  • Participants will have second-round selection priority
• STEP 2: ECTA’s Aerial Director will approve Students’ Broadway show and song selections on February 16, 2019.
• STEP 3: Students’ unedited video submission (80% act completed with costume and makeup concept) is due by March 9, 2019.
• STEP 4: ECTA’s Aerial Director will announce Final Show Selection on March 23, 2019.
• STEP 5: All Selected Artists must attend ECTA’s 4-week, mandatory Act Refinement Workshop
  • Dates: March 29, April 5, April 12, and April 19.
  • Time: 6:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Cost: $30 per session or 1 FA credit per session
  • Participants will receive constructive feedback about their act, and will be given detailed instruction on costuming, makeup, and technical requirements throughout the workshop.
  • Participants must attend all 4 workshops to be considered for the Protege Show – no exceptions.
• STEP 6: Show Order, Dress Rehearsal, and Practice Schedule details will be emailed to participants on April 20, 2019.
• STEP 7: Performance on Saturday, April 27, 2019, 7:30pm!
