SANCA/ECTA are thrilled to announce our first joint Protege show auditions for performances on October 6 & 7th!
Audition Information
Auditions will take place on August 6th at 5:30pm for aerialists and on August 13 at 7pm for flyers. Sign-ups to apply to audition for Protege are available at the SANCA and ECTA front desks! Be sure to sign up by August 2. Applicants will be informed about audition decisions on August 4.

For Stage Circus Artists: Sunday, August 6, 2023 Auditions
- Auditions will take place from 5:30-8:30pm
- Aerialists may arrive a half hour beforehand to warm up
- 5:30pm-6:30pm Ensemble Audition (group dance/movement choreography)
- 6:30pm Stage Circus Audition: Select the song you would like to use for your piece (anything from a Seattle-based band/musician that is 3-4 minutes long) perform a 90-second solo on your apparatus (it doesn’t have to be your final choreo) to the song
- Show your musicality, character, how you relate to your apparatus, how you work as a group Introduce yourself, put your best foot forward
For Flyers: Sunday, August 13, 2023 Auditions
- Auditions will take place from 7:00pm-10:00pm.
- Flyers may arrive a half hour beforehand to warm up.
- 7:00-8:00pm Ensemble Audition (group dance/movement choreography)
- 8:00pm Flying Trapeze Audition: To audition, flyers should be able to remount the board without safety lines and be working on a flyout; they should have returned one trick to the board more than once, and they should have caught two tricks out of safety lines. They should have a dismount that is close to being out of safety lines, if not out of safety lines already. In addition, all flyers should be comfortable working on the board, including having basic knowledge of bar dropping and assisting others as they remount on the board. Finally, flyers will need to be comfortable pushing out of their comfort zone.
