A Perfect Circle:  Aerial Hoop Spins and Sequences

For students with an existing practice on aerial hoop. Rachel Strickland will go over several sequences that you can chop up and frankenstein to your own liking, as well as perfect a few unique spins for tricky situations, and practice flares.  Must have strong single knee hangs and inversions, and some vocabulary and experience on the hoop. Students are expected to warm up nominally beforehand and encouraged to bring a notebook. No puking. Learn more about Rachel Strickland below!

About Rachel:
Classically trained in ballet since the age of three, Rachel is a dancer turned aerialist, choreographer, and variety performer.  She began her study of circus arts in 2007, developing a unique style and approach to aerial work, and has performed extensively across the United States and around the world.  Collaborations include devising choreography and performing with Fidget Feet Aerial Dance in Ireland, as well as creating the award winning show “Elements” with Natural Wings out of Perth in Western Australia.  She feels honored to have worked on US soil with such fine companies as Emerald City Trapeze Arts, ticktock, Nekyia Dance, Madame Rex Entertainment, Kinetic Arts Productions, Trapeze World, Queensryche, and Circus Automatic.
She has dedicated her circus life to worshiping at the altar of spiral momentum and the practice of telling stories.
