Functional Fitness For Flyers Workshop with L.J. Mintz


What: 2 day, 2 hour/day (4 hours total) workshop for flying trapeze students wanting to improve their abilities in the air. You will learn and feel an understanding of how to soar to new heights! This workshop will incorporate Pilates-based movement and biomechanics education OFF the rig, combined with technique focused training ON the rig.

  • August 23rd  & 25th (9:30am -11:30am)

After this workshop, you will:


– Have an understanding of what is needed in your body to stay healthy & strong for continued flying!
– Know what you need to do, and HOW to do it, to reach your desired flying goals!
– Learn exercises you can incorporate into your warm-up & training!
– Feel stronger, more connected, and better prepared to fly!


Who: Flying Trapeze Students
Prerequisite: Working on a swing out of lines. Unassisted takeoff, safe consistent landing in net. Able to assist others’ on the platform with bar, raise, and safety lines.

About L.J. Mintz
With over 20 years as a movement professional, L.J. brings an artistic quality combined with a scientific approach to moving the body. Beginning dance and gymnastics at the age of 3, and circus arts at age 10, her natural interest in human movement continued with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, as well as multiple Pilates and fitness certifications. Her professional performing career brought her around the globe to work with circuses including Big Apple Circus and Cirque Du Soliel. While she wasn’t training or performing, L.J. shared her love of circus arts, Pilates, and physical fitness by teaching diverse populations in several different forms of movement. Discovering her innate passion for business management L.J has also managed multiple flying trapeze, pilates & fitness facilities, and founded FLYER FITNESS to spread her knowledge and expertise to students and coaches around the world. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, 3 Pilates certifications, an Aerial Teacher certification, and numerous hours of continuing education courses, L.J will connect you to your movement potential.
